The Madeen Philosophy:
We live in a world of interdependent bonds and architecture is no exception to this reality. Architecture can and should be
harmonious with the environment and the context it is
implemented into rather than performing as an independent function. Architecture can and should be of the earth, utilizing as many local and natural materials as possible. Architecture can and should be considerate of its site and, if generated correctly, will succeed in giving back to the earth that it rests within.
About the Firm:
Madeen Architecture and Construction was founded by Greg Madeen in order to enhance and progressively re-establish the
connection between humans and nature. Sustainable, alternative, instinctive, handcrafted, breathable and healthy are descriptive terms that help define the Madeen architectural design approach. The style and materials that are implemented into our work are derived from the site and the client's desires rather than from current trends or any preconceptions that may exist.
With over a 200 project history that include 70 adobes, 15 strawbales, 15 pumicecrete, 3 rammed earth projects, and numerous other innovative holistic solutions, Madeen Architecture and Construction is dedicated to the belief that a balance can exist between architecture, humans and nature. We encourage involvement and cooperation with other enthusiastic environmental professionals. Staff size varies with workload requirements. A retainer for services is required.
